Over the centuries, Ludo has evolved and spread across the globe, becoming a beloved game in many cultures. Not only in an online format but Ludo can now also be played in mobile phones in an online format which is more fascinating as you don't need all the players that too at one place and you can easily play it anytime anywhere.
How to Play Classic Ludo
Ludo is a game of strategy, luck, and rivalry that can be enjoyed by two to four players. The goal is simple: race your four tokens from start to finish before your opponents do. The board features a circular track divided into four coloured quadrants, with each player assigned a set of tokens matching one of the colours.
1. Setup:
There are two players in Classic Ludo as it’s played between two players who have put in money. Both of them are given a colour and their four tokens are there on the designated starting area. Each move will give you a point and these points will be considered at the end to decide who is winning the game.
2. Roll the Dice:
Players take turns rolling a six-sided die to determine how many spaces their tokens can move. This is simple and random.
3. Movement:
Tokens move clockwise around the board. They must complete a full circuit before entering their respective coloured home column. You just have to decide which token you have to move. Tokens can only move forward along the track in a clockwise direction. Here, If you roll a 6, you do not get another turn after moving your token.
4. Safe Zones:
The centre of the board and the coloured home columns are safe zones where tokens cannot be captured by opponents. Each player has a safe zone near their home area where their tokens are safe from capture. Tokens in these zones cannot be captured by opponents. If two of your tokens share the same space, you will get an additional 2 points, and if three of your tokens share a space, you will get an additional 3 points.
5. Capturing Opponent's Tokens:
If a player lands on a square occupied by an opponent's token, the opponent's token is sent back to its starting position. If your token lands on a space occupied by an opponent's token, the opponent's token is sent back to its starting area. However, if your token lands on a space occupied by your own token, you create a "blockade". You will gain an extra move and +2 bonus points for capturing opponents' tokens. Players will lose points as per the blocks token has moved on being captured by the opponents.
6. Winning the Game:
The first player to move all their tokens into their home column wins the game. Either when completing 24 moves, whoever has the highest points wins the game or the first player to move all four of their tokens into their home area wins the game. You earn real money on winning the game.
Tips to Win Classic Ludo
-
Balancing Risk and Reward: Decide whether to focus on moving a single token quickly or spreading your efforts across multiple tokens to increase your chances of success.
-
Blocking Opponents: Use your tokens strategically to block your opponents' progress and force them to take longer routes.
-
Timing is Key: Know when to be aggressive and when to play defensively. Sometimes it's better to wait for an opportune moment than to rush and risk losing tokens.
