Raymond Eustace Grant Govan was a British business man and first president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), who served from 1928 to 1933. He also filled the role of Managing Director of Govan Bros. Ltd. and of Indian National Airways Ltd. created in 1933, in the early history of aviation in India. Govan’s impact on cricket included his position as president of the Cricket Club of India and his work in obtaining BCCI’s membership with the International Cricket Council. Notably, in 1931 he sent out a call to the Marylebone Cricket Club to travel to India for the first time, a most significant step in the history of Indian cricket.
